I’m Andrew Tunney, a Cairns-based commercial, event and drone photographer working with businesses, government organisations and project teams across Far North Queensland.

I create professional photography that helps organisations document their work, communicate with stakeholders and present their people, projects and places clearly. My assignments include commercial campaigns, corporate and community events, tourism, infrastructure, construction, wildlife and destination photography.

Photography grounded in local experience

Working in Far North Queensland involves more than knowing how to use a camera. Conditions can change quickly, locations may be remote, and a photography brief often needs to be completed around weather, site access, operational requirements and tight schedules.

My local knowledge helps me prepare for these conditions and work efficiently on location. I take the time to understand the purpose of each assignment, the people who will use the images and the formats required. This may include photography for websites, reports, media releases, project updates, tourism campaigns, internal communications or an organisation’s broader image library.

I work across a range of sectors, including tourism, infrastructure, construction, government, sport and community events. My portfolio includes assignments for private businesses, Queensland government organisations and Queensland Rugby League.

On site, I work with the people involved to capture the required material while minimising disruption to normal operations. After the assignment, clients receive professionally processed images prepared for their intended uses.

Working safely and professionally

I understand that photography may take place in active workplaces, public environments, schools or community settings. I hold a current Queensland Blue Card, providing additional reassurance for organisations requiring photography involving children or young people.

Where a project involves an active worksite, restricted location or drone operations, access and safety requirements can be discussed during planning. This helps establish a realistic schedule and ensures the photography brief reflects the conditions at the location.
